Holly’s journey to business began in college working towards a business degree but shifted to teaching. As an elementary teacher in Hillsboro, Holly learnt many of the skills she eventually brought to RETO: organization, leadership, and the ability to set goals and help others reach them. Two years ago, Holly made the switch to committing herself to both her children at home and to RETO Media full-time.

We love helping their business succeed by marketing them in the best way possible. I love people, so making our clients happy is my favorite part of the job!”

What are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about helping other people. The shift from school teacher to business owner seemed like a big one, until I realized that I just love people! I enjoy spending time with our clients and our employees. It is also really exciting for me to share with other’s the amazing work our team creates.

What’s your working relationship with Kent like?

Kent and I are fully partners in this business. We brainstorm, problem solve, and dream together. So much so that our daughter asked already: what type of business will she own when she grows up? As a wife and business partner, I am able to support Kent, but I am also able to feel fulfilled in my work by seeing our vision come to fruition.

What is the Kent and Holly story?

Kent and I met when he was a video producer at Sunset Presbyterian Church. I was a teacher in Hillsboro, and spent my free time volunteering at the church mentoring teen girls. It took some time and a mutual friend to eventually begin a text, then a phone call that led to a first date to Sushi. The rest is history! I’ve found that we are actually more similar than we are different, which makes for a really different combination than most people. I always say that we are each like a steam engine going full speed, and the goal for us is to make sure that we are side by side blazing in the same direction. When our energies are put to the same goals, we are in our sweet spot.
